1/2 cup mayonnaise 120ml 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 60ml 1/4 cup honey 60ml or 85g 2 tablespoons yellow mustard 30ml 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 15ml 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon paprika optional, for color and mild heat salt and black pepper to taste
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
Whisk together until smooth and well combined, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
For a tangier sauce, increase the Dijon mustard to 1/3 cup and reduce the honey slightly.
Make it spicier by adding 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half or all of the mayonnaise.
This sauce thickens slightly when refrigerated; thin with a teaspoon of water or lemon juice if needed.
Use whole grain mustard instead of yellow mustard for added texture and a rustic appearance.
The sauce can be made up to 2 weeks ahead and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
Perfect for chicken nuggets, pretzels, sandwiches, burgers, or as a salad dressing when thinned with a bit of olive oil.
For a vegan version, use vegan mayonnaise and substitute maple syrup for honey.
Adjust sweetness to your preference by adding more or less honey – start with 3 tablespoons if you prefer less sweet.
Let the sauce sit for 15-30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.
